Paris For Two

How would you feel, if you went to mystery destination to escape your crush, not knowing your crush would be there too? Well, this situation happens to Petunia Beenly, in the book Paris For Two. It is one of the eleven books written by Phoebe stone. Pet (Petunia) is just an ordinary girl, who has a “ popular” older sister who Pet’s mom adores. Life isn’t always easy for Pet, she is always unnoticed and she is always dominants by her older sister. The life of a younger sister is just a tower of dominoes ready to fall. This sentence from the book really stuck out to me because after all of the mishaps Pet goes through the book, she never gives up. Pet also has a crush on a Windel Watson who plays the piano beautifully. She has always tried to avoid him because she doesn’t want anyone to know! Keeping secrets are very tuff but at the end they always end up coming out!

Although, this book didn’t win any awards, it was written many nice and descriptive reviews. My favorite review that this book was written was by the Kirkus Reviews, “a poetically told story with a fairytale feel”. Phoebe Stone has won many awards such as her book “The Boy on Cinnamon Street”, was awarded with four starred reviews and is currently on the Vermont Dorothy Canfield Fisher book award. What a big accomplishment! If you enjoyed this book and you want to read more similar to it I recommend, Anna and the French kiss! Don’t forget to check out Paris for Two and other books written by Phoebe Stone!
