         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Prior to this law, individuals with disabilities were seen as people who didn't have the capacity for independence or to be contributing members of society. This law protected a right that all individuals deserve to be recognized as members of society.&nbsp; With more accessible infrastructure<br>&nbsp;and freedom from discrimination in education and employment, they could be a part of society as equals. The Rehabilitation Act formed the basis for assistive technology to be used by recognizing that there are multiple ways that the world could be made accessible to individuals with disabilities and that it should.<br><br>- This law helps individuals like Sady by supporting organizations that connect them to the resources that help foster their independence.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- This law introduced the individualized education program that was designed to provide individuals with disabilities appropriate education plans tailored to their needs and strengths not just their disabilities. It made sure public schools provided free adequate special education services. It opened the door to exploring the different ways education can be accessed in the school setting including assistive technology.<br><br>- As a result of this law, individuals like Sady can attend classes using materials and methods that are tailored to their needs. Their right to receive a proper education is protected.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1988 </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- The technology related assistance for individuals with disabilities act recognized that there are many individuals that could benefit from the use of assistive technology. This law made sure that individuals with disabilities could receive the necessary financial assistance to obtain assistive technology, be a part of the decision-making process to receive assistive technology, receive adequate training on the application of assistive technology, and ensuring that organizations and institutions provide them. This law laid the foundation to provide the monetary resources needed to bring assistive technology into to public schools.<br><br>- The Technology Act gave individuals like Sady access to the assistive technology they needed to improve their daily-living.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- This law set the stage for assisted technology in public schools by prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disabilities in a multitude of areas regardless of whether they receive government funding including programs, services and schools. This means that services can not be withheld from someone just because they have a disability. This includes the use of assistive technology.<br><br>- The Americans with Disabilities Act made it so that individuals like Sady can seek employment, attend post-secondary institutions, and use public services without fear of discrimination.</div>]]></description>
