They realize it's a map left by a pirate, Captain Flint and they set sail for the hurried treasure.

It is repeated more than once throughout the book.  ]]> 2018-03-27 13:19:12 UTC https://padlet.com/bcavan8782/lnfn9ihdnyso/wish/246475791 Journal Entry bcavan8782 https://padlet.com/bcavan8782/lnfn9ihdnyso/wish/246496728 The main character of my book is Jim, the narrator.  Jim is a young teen whose father dies forcing him to become the man of the family.  Jim is a brave, outgoing, adventurous, and responsible young man.  His real name is Jim Hawkins.  Jim is 16 years old which really isn’t that young to become a pirate.  Jim appeared as a small and young boy who wore raggedy clothes.  Jim’s friends were the people he escaped the island with, Dr. Livesey, Squire Trelawney, Captain Smollett, Long John Silver, and Ben Gunn.  They are his friends because that was the small group that planned on taking the treasure for themselves.  Jim is noticed as more a flat character, very predictable. He doesn’t do anything really outstanding, he is more of an average Joe.  Jim encounters many problems/conflicts along the way.  One main problem he faces is how they will split up the treasure between the crew.  They solve it by deciding to split it between a couple of them and abandoned the rest of the crew on the island.
