My name is Sharieff McKay I teach 8th Social Studies. I have enjoyed 17 years working with At-Risk students as a Paraprofessional working with students with special needs. Some of the most rewarding work I have performed in public education was working with students with special needs. Seeing students achieve is the juice that keeps me coming back for more. I am a Yankee fan born in Harlem NY and raised in The Bronx New York. My upbringing and experiences has shown me time and again education can balance any social economic short coming that arise when a steady diet of attainment of knowledge is supplied. Working in various Title One schools from the South Bronx to West Charlotte having first hand understanding of the wonders of public education and how it changed my life, because just like the students I serve everyday I too am a product of public education and poverty. My mission has been always to share my story with students and show them there is a path to something greater then what their young eyes have been exposed to.
