Much of our trash that people throw away everyday, eventually ends up in the ocean. Some people show no care, and throw it on the ground, and make the planet not healthy. A huge percentage of the pollution is from oil spills, which kills a lot of marine life. Much of these oil spills are caused by people often times on purpose.

Fertilizer runoff from farms and lawns is a huge problem for coastal areas. The extra nutrients cause eutrophication - flourishing of algal blooms that deplete the water's dissolved oxygen and suffocate other marine life.

Solid Garbage

Solid garbage also makes its way to the ocean. Plastic bags, balloons, glass bottles, shoes, packaging material – if not disposed of correctly, almost everything we throw away can reach the sea. Plastic garbage, which decomposes very slowly, is often mistaken for food by marine animals. High concentrations of plastic material, particularly plastic bags, have been found blocking the breathing passages and stomachs of many marine species, including whales, dolphins, seals, puffins, and turtles. Plastic six-pack rings for drink bottles can also choke marine animals. This garbage can also come back to shore, where it pollutes beaches and other coastal habitats.

From all over the world sewage fills into the ocean, this sewage contains trash, and things that could hurt the world. This also does things like kill marine animals.

Marine animals also help us a lot in our life, and if we run out of them because of pollution, that would be really bad.

Helping the planet

For centuries, the oceans have been a convenient dumping ground for waste generated on land. In conclusion I believe that pollution needs to end, and if we do not do this, then the world will crumble, because all of this pollution is slowly tearing it apart. I think people should try and make a better effort at trying to keep the planet clean, but it is very hard to tell everyone in the world that they aren’t allowed to throw trash on the ground, so people have too convince them. People could possibly do this by running small campaigns for no polluting, which could later on turn out to be a big help to the world.
