After conducting the interview, I was able to understand that masculinity is a major issue in society. One of the connections that I have seen between Ms.Sefika and the interviews in the documentary is that they all started in their childhood and the community they are in and how that can affect them, which created this sense of mascualnity.

I interviewed my father since he recognizes what masculinity is, so I was curious about what he's answers would look like. He has also grew up in Korea, which I thought that the stereotype of masculinity from the documentary and from my father's experience would be different.

When I questioned him about how he would define masculinity, he said that males should be generous and leadership since he believes that they are few of the attractive traits that males could have. One of the things that I found surprising was that he never had a situation where he treated different even with the stereotypes of masculinity he was surrounded by.

My father determined that feminine emotions are more sensitive and not straightforward, while males are the opposite and should have leadership skills in order to be dominant and overpower the situation or people. This connects with the documentary where they said that "men don't cry", which they are less sensitive, and crying was considered a weakness that males should feel ashamed of. My father did not realize that this was even part of the issues of masculinity and believed that it is how "an ordinary man" should be.

Through conducting this interview, I was able to gain more understanding that the individual's experience and the particular country or the place where males have grown up to can differentiate how they perceive masculinity. It was an interesting experience to learn more about my father's deep thoughts about what masculinity means for him, which I was able to further compare and analyze between his response and the documentary.
