I will concentrate on the questions why people believe in a religion, why religion is so powerful in the world, and what could be  the possible future of religion. But before i will start I want to mention, that i am not really believing in any religion, altough I had a catholic name ceremony I don't want consider me as a christian. But I am really interested in the role of  religion in our world and why people believe in something,  So first I will start with the numbers. Today 84% of the human population belive in a religion, while the other 16% are atheists. Interesting to mention is that atheism is something new, 100 years ago, only one % of the humans, said that they believe in nothing. But before i will tell you something about the question, why  does people believe in a religion , I want to tell you, how many people believe in which religion. So in 2020 the biggest religion was the christianity with  2.3 billion believers. The islam is the second biggest religion with more than 1.6 billion believers. 1.1 billion people in the world are atheists, and there is  a comparable amount of hindus. In comparision to the religions  I have mentioned earlier , the buddism with 506 million believers  is very small . But the smallest of the five world  religions, is the Judaism with 15 million believers. The remainig 500 million people believe in other religions, for example in spiritualism or traditional religions from their ancestors. But the question is why, does people believe in something? I will answer this question on another day.
