The British and the US actually made a deal that they would ship us their helmets. Some of the times the Soldiers even had to wear previously used uniforms that had bullet holes, rips, etc in them. The British and the Germans were the first to have body armor and bullet proof armor. They were very heavy like they are today, they weighed about 40 pounds. These vest were very stiff too and hard to move in and not comfortable. The vest do stop a bullet but your body is still stopping the force of a bullet and its like getting punched in the gut and having the wind taken out of you. If we were to just show what we were going to where for war other countries would know how to prepare and what to look for. There is an armor though that is going to be used in the future that can stop a .40 caliber or .50 caliber bullet and only have minor damage to it and the person. The armour called Spartan armour the armour is more lightweight and covers more of the body, the helmet that goes with this uniform is kind of like a helmet from a trooper from star wars. Also made to be completely bulletproof. Some people though are saying that in the future the army uniform might just be an average day uniform but its the person wearing it. It also surprised me that the US had hidden their future and present uniforms so it was hard to find some of the information.
