The information can be used sporadically over time to allow students to gradually build upon their knowledge of detailed writing or it can be used all at once to teach a full lesson on detailed writing. While he is sad to leave what he has considered his home for all of his life, as he encounters the natural wonders of his family’s new beginning he is able to appreciate it. The depictions of the landscape and geographical features transport the reader to his new home and will provide students the understanding of why being illustrative with their words is so important.
