I drew my image (a pair of parrots I later named Walter and Phyllis) with 4H--6B pencils, using lighter pencils for the feathers and darker pencils for the beak/around the face, a pencil blender for shadows and a smoother look, and a mini eraser for highlights and feather details. For the shading, I mostly used a blending technique and a sort of hatching where the feathers all flowed in a similar direction. I used the mini eraser for different groups of feathers sticking out on Phyllis' (the bird on the right) chest and Walter's (the left bird) cheek, and for highlights on each bird's beak, mainly Phyllis'. I drew this image partially because I really like parrots, and partially because I couldn't find a picture of that Gringotts dragon from Harry Potter, lol.
