         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Hypothesis: </strong>The left chads will raise up to the top the fastest when exposed to the higher light intensity because of the increased rate of photosynthesis.<br><br></div><div><strong>Prediction:</strong> If the leaf chads are exposed to two lights at the same time, then the leaf chads will photosynthesize the faster than when under a single light because of the increased light intensity.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>Gather two fluorescent lights, two syringes, distilled water, large spinach leaf, light intensity probe, cups, soap, detergent, hole puncher, and a light pad.</li><li>Punch out 20 chads using the hole puncher that was provided out of the spinach leaf. Place 10 leaf chads in each of the syringes, fill both with 5 ml of water and proceed to remove any CO2 from the leaves by vacuuming using your thumb to plug the tip of the syringe.</li><li>&nbsp;Create the solution for the chads in the cups&nbsp; that were providedto photosynthesize in by adding 2 drops of liquid dish soap into 50mL sodium bicarbonate and 50mL of distilled water into a container.&nbsp;</li><li>Set up the light station by setting up 1 light roughly 2 feet above the station table and place a light pad underneath the 1light.</li><li>Place the chads in the solution, sink them, and place the container on top of the light pad. Place the light intensity probe in a consistent location next to the base of the container and mark down the light intensity.</li><li>Start the timer and keep track of how long (in seconds) for half of the chads to rise and how long (in seconds) for all of the chads to rise.</li><li>Add an additional light, and repeat steps 1-3 and 5-6.&nbsp;</li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In conclusion, the results of our experiment were inconclusive. While the chads that were exposed to one light (1568 lux) only took 455 seconds for all of the chads to rise, the group of chads that were exposed to two lights (3790 lux) did not rise at all after 1080 seconds. The chads may have risen eventually, but the data was already skewed far from the expected results. The chads that were exposed to the higher light intensities were expected to rise quicker than the other chads. The results should have occurred because the increase light intensity would increase the total amount of light reactions. The increased amount of light reactions would allow for more CO2 to be produced.<br><br>There were multiple errors that may have added to the inconclusive results. First, there was too much soap and distilled water used in the trial with 2 lights. This decreased the concentration of CO2 in the solution and slowed down the rate of photosynthesis. This would slow down the rate of photosynthesis because although the light intensity was increased, there was not an adequate amount of CO2 to correspond. Second, the light intensity may have been too high. With 2 lights and a light pad, the light intensity simply may have been too high for the leaf chads which could damage the chlorophyll. This again would slow down the rate of photosynthesis significantly. Both of these factors contributed to why the second trial was inconclusive. The light sensor also might have been placed in an angle that did not accurately represent the amount of luxs that the chads were intaking.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The results of this lab were inconclusive for the second trial. After 1080 seconds, the chads that were under two lights (3654 lux) did not rise at all. The ET50 of the second trial was a ET50 0.0021978. The graph represents the trial that did actually work and shows how fast the chads ended up floating.</div>]]></description>
