I would use the Narrative research design because it focuses on the experiences of the individual, it offers a wide perspective on an issue hence people have different ways of explaining their lived experiences and constructs of their reality.
The narrative research accommodates told stories and visual presentations thus it goes on to offer a broad view of how social constructs and issues can lead people to follow certain paths to solve their problems. I also prefer this research design because it allows a subject view hence people are continuously changing and learning and they cannot be studied in a scientific approach.
1.1) What is the relationship between gender roles and career choices amongst young men?

I would have done most probably critical ethnographic research of a group of displaced people in Sudan or DRC staying in a refugee camp due to attacks by militia groups etc. I would have had to immerse myself within that community for a prolonged time in their day-to-day lives in order to observe, video record and interview (unstructured) members of that group. I would have done this with an objective of learning, understanding and interpreting the shared and learned patterns of values, behaviors, beliefs, and language of this culture-sharing group of people. What people in this setting have to know and do in order to make this system work. My biggest interest would be more on children, looking for patterns of social organization/networks and their worldview and ideas considering growing up within marginalised and deprived circumstances. Like what kind of human beings are they going to turn out to be, and will they even be able to blend in with the world once they get to lead 'normal' lives (if at all) under 'normal' circumstance - sort of understand and interpret their overall mentality and worldview having gone through the refugee, displaced people experience, sometimes tortured, raped and attacked within those camps as well.

Research topic:
Exploring the impact that civil war has had on children in a refugee camp.

1) I would use narrative research because I find it very intriguing how it seeks to elicit stories from the people under study. Humans are very individualistic and everyone has a different lived experience, as well as unique responses to situations. Narrative research offers varying perspectives and contextual understanding. Certain feelings and emotions cannot be empirically measured, and better comprehension can be gained through elaboration of stories.

Research question: Exploring the experiences of females in the medical profession

1) I would chose to do phenomenological research as it seeks to understand the lived experiences of individuals. As we are all unique we experience phenomenon in our own individual way. I would find it interesting to find out more about an expereince that can potentially shape people.

1.1) How does the art therapy assist children in discovering more about themselves?

i would use the Ethnographic research to study one of the South African cultures. This type of research focuses on individuals who belong to the same cultural group and share similar values, beliefs and customs , and language. I would spend an extensive time within that community and collect my data by observations, interviews and artefacts and make interpretations based on that.

1.1) The influence of culture on illnesses.

1) If I had the opportunity to conduct a qualitiative research project I would choose a Narrative Research Approach because I think it is facinating to learn about different individuals experieces around the life events. I think we as researchers can learn a lot from one another and therefore would give us very valuable information as well as extensive information around the given topic of research. I think it is the perfect way of researchers being able to understand and make sense of different peoples narratives and take all the lived experiences into consideration.

2) The experiences of females in a predominantly male workplace.

1. If I was to carry out a qualitative research study I would use the phenomenological research approach as it studies the lived experiences of individuals. Using this qualitative research approach will help me gain an in-depth understanding as to why individuals (male adults) reoffend. To understand why individuals who have been convicted of a crime reoffend, it is important to gain an understanding of their experiences which contribute to the factors that lead them back to a life of crime.
1.1.

1) I would use the phenomenological research approach if I were given the opportunity to conduct research on a topic of my choice. I would choose this approach because it focuses on the individual experience of a phenomenon. We are all so diverse that I think it is helpful to consider how different individuals perceive the same phenomenon. This ties in with the fact that phenomenological research studies the individual experience of *multiple* individuals, leading to a more in-depth view of the experience. It involves the refusal of the subjective-objective perspective and instead focuses on the subjective experience of the individual regarding the phenomenon with the objective experience of something that the individual has in common with others.

1.1)I would study: How pro-ana websites are viewed (subjective experience of phenomenon) by people with anorexia nervosa (objective commonality).

1. If given the opportunity I would use the narrative research approach as a lot of information can be conveyed through stories. You can also see a person's emotions when they tell a specific story as well as what tone they use to convey the story. The narrative research approach also helps in giving an opportunity for a person to tell their version of their 'truth' as every person sees life and experiences in a different perspective.

1.1.

Narrative research
Because its aim is to conceptualize and explore human experiences by allowing people to tell their own stories about their experience of something. For me this research acknowledges individualism as the fact remains that we are different as people and we experience the same situation differently and people are given an opportunity to tell their side of story.

Topic: Impact of lockdown caused by covid 19 pandemic.
