1. Allowing students to use the sight word wall during writing time, to find words they can use and include in their sentences, and to know how to correctly spell them.

2. Build reading fluency by practicing the words on the wall and being able to build up reading skills by learning the sight words.

3. Guess the word activity: One student will choose a word from the wall and act it out or give hints about the word to allow other students to try and guess the word.

4. Sentence Building: Challenge students to build sentences from the words on the wall using them in correct meaning and sentence structure.

5. Personal Word Wall: Allow students to create a mini word wall with the words they are still trying to learn so that they can visualize and learn them by having more access to them.

Don't: Discourage students to move on if they are only stuck on 1-3 words.

Do: Allow students to be interactive and use the word wall frequently.

Do: Use the word wall, and reference it frequently so students can become familiar with it.

Don't: Wait to add words because a few students are behind on their words.
