  • He drove cattle on the Western Trail it went from San Antonio to Nebraska 
  • Teddy Blue Abbott shared his life experiences which formed his book “We Pointed them North”
  • He started herding cattle when he was ten years old, he hoped that the Nebraska air would improve his health
  • He wanted to write a book about his life because, even though there were other books written by cowboys. He thought they weren’t written correctly. 
  • He also thought that when older cowboys told the story of being on the trail. They always made it sound awful, but he thought there were fun aspects also.
