For my upcoming birthday, my family is already planning a vacation, most likely to Jamaica. I am very much looking forward to celebrating with them in a warm, tropical location. In addition, I am born during the same month as my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and niece, so we always plan something for our whole family to do to celebrate all our birthdays together.

This year my family and I are going to Washington DC to watch a play. We were planning on walking around and doing touristy things as well. Hopefully sometime soon I can do something small with my friends like have a game night or do dinner.

When my family celebrates birthdays, we have a tradition of letting the person with the birthday choose a dinner and dessert to have on the evening of their birthday. For me specifically, I always try to plan something fun for me and my friends to do together to celebrate.

This year, I am having a roller skating birthday party with friends. The theme at the rink we are going to is "retro roll," so everyone will be wearing 70s, 80s, and 90s themed clothing while skating. I am also having a birthday dinner with my family where I get to choose where we eat. I will likely choose Texas Roadhouse because their rolls are delicious.

For my past birthday, I somewhat got to celebrate it by going to Disney World with my cheer team for nationals. All though we weren't there for my birthday, I still got to celebrate it there because my birthday was the day we got back from Florida. When I got home and it was my actual birthday, I celebrated by having friends over and eating cake and just spending time with my friends and family. My dad also took me to get my nails done since it was my birthday as well as Sadies was just around the corner.

For my birthday, it is usually towards the end of soccer season, so my family will celebrate my birthday with presents and other stuff when we have the time to. Sometimes either my dad or I will have a soccer game and we'll just celebrate it after games or after practice. We also usually go out to dinner on the weekend after as a family.

I'm not really a big birthday person. I just see it as a normal day. My mom likes to go all out with a cake but I would be fine without it. I think having a birthday party when you are young is more fun than having one as a teen.

Every year for my birthday, I get to choose where I want to go for my birthday dinner. I usually want to work during the day on my birthday because I work with my family and best friends. This past birthday I was serving tables and I wore a 17'th birthday sash to make an extra couple of bucks (it certainly worked). I get presents at dinner, dessert and a birthday song, like anyone else. Then, on the ride back home, I get to blast my playlist and usually it continues when we get home. I stay up way too late. The weekend either before or after my birthday my dad takes me to Philly for a Sixers game. For my 16th he reserved a whole suite. This year he did not but we went to the Phila vs. Miami game.

To celebrate my birthday, I usually just invite friends over to hang out, or just go somewhere to eat. I enjoy having a good time on my birthday and hanging out with friends is great. Although I'm actually allergic to eggs so I cannot have normal birthday cake. My family always has to order an ice cream cake.
