1.Before taking up the module of painting

During in Senior High School where we have this certain subject that requires us to go to a museum to pick a painting and explain its meaning on our opinion. I still remember when we visited the National Museum, the first thing that I noticed was the painting of the Spoliarium by Juan Luna because of its size and also representation of the painting.

In paintings, I firmly believe that you should see the painting itself rather than imposing it on yourself because it is unjust. It should also make you to see the painting on what it is and practice yourself to see things for what they are for you to see the objective truth. It will also help you in not to fall deeply in your imagination rather you will see the reality.

2. During taking up the module of painting

Throughout our class sessions, I have learned that in painting, there should be an emphasis because it gives the focus of the painting. There should also be balance because it equalizes the elements that are used in the painting. One example is the painting of the Spoliarium by Juan Luna because it certainly has its emphasis which is the dead body who was being dragged and it shows the dramatic representation of the painting. It also has balance because you can see in the painting that nothing is out of placed because every aspect in the painting is in the right place. It is balanced because the colors that were used are proportionate with the story of the painting and there is also balance when it comes to the structure of the body of the people in the painting because it seems like they are real.

One more thing that I have learned is that in making paintings, it has conventions which is the norm. According to Borja, he stated that we make paintings because that is how the liberal arts are. Cambio also stated that there are paintings made because we have several frames that represents the liberal arts.

3. After taking up the module of painting

After going to the National Museum when I was in eleventh grade, I started to appreciate paintings because I’m always amazed on the story behind the paintings. I was really inspired by the artworks in the National Museum that I started to explore more museums that has paintings because   I want to learn more.

Since we are done in taking up the module of painting, I will read more books regarding paintings so I would be more educated and my knowledge about it will be deep. My family loves to travel and I would make sure that we will go to a lot of museums because it will help me to explore lots of paintings and this will teach me to be more open-minded that they are many paintings I should learn about.
