It is to protect the temperature of their blood. They could be either cold or warm blooded. From what i have learnt from the slides,it is stated that plants such as lichens and grasses which in cold places clump up together close to the ground,this adaption protect them from freezing winds .As for camels,they have humps which can store fat which is energy. They can also drink up more than 100 litres of water so this allows the camel to go far distances without having to quench their thirst. They sweat and urinate very little to retain as much water as possible. As for animals who live in hot places,they are able to avoid the sun by standing under the shades such as trees or caves that could be found easily. At night,they are able to come out as it is more cooler at night,at these point of times ,they would come out to find food. That is the adaption of coping with extreme temperatures. There are more things that we can find out about the surrounding or room temperature that the animals can stabilise it. It depends on the temperature of their blood when they are inside or outside of their habitats. They can be warm or cold blooded.
