Interaction Design Definition
Interaction design is the practice of designing interactive products, environments, systems, and services. It defines the structure and behaviour of interactive systems and facilitate interactions between people and their environment. Interaction designers strive to create meaningful relationships between people and the products and services that they use, from computers to mobile devices to appliances and beyond.

Interaction Design Process
The common process to achieve desired outcomes in interaction designs is: definition; research; ideation; design; prototyping; observation; and iteration.

The first phase is defining the project, the product and the design task at hand, and understand what we are trying to solve or achieve.

Next, after we have defined the project, we begin on our research. Gathering of data to form the foundation of our final product are done in this stage.

The third phase is ideation where we make use of the data that we gathered to help us generate ideas and potential solution. In this phase we think, collaborate, sketch, ponder, wonder, dream, and draw. We generate many possibilities, select a few viable ideas, and pursue only the best.

Next, is the design and prototyping stage. We create models of our possible solutions to test them, ensure they are complete, and that they help people solve problems, complete tasks, and achieve goals. Designs range from low fidelity sketches, to high fidelity wireframes, and visual comps. Prototypes can vary from simple objects, or click through sequences, to elaborate functional interfaces, and mock devices.

The last phase of interaction design is observation and iteration. In this phase, we not only refine our design but also monitor the performance, usability, accessibility, and the success of a product after it's been released. We gather data, speak with and observe users, gather usage and error data, and look for opportunities to modify, improve, and enhance that product.

Client A should know what a prototype is. Prototypes are simulations, models to showcase how the finished product will work. They let your experience how the application flows and how its interaction works.

If the company does not do prototyping it may end up costing the company lost of time and money through mis-steps and imperfect results.

If user experience is important to our project, we need to be working some degree of prototyping. Prototypes allow you to test out what works, and what doesn;t, before you make the expensive decision to write code or produce assets.

Testing prototypes may result in solving unexpected problem.

By testing prototypes with users, we can catch mistakes and avoid incorrect assumptions and it also ensure that your interface is intuitive to your target audience.

Prototype does not have to be perfect, it has to conveys the ideas accurately.

Prototyping allow you to physically test your design and does not require's one skills of coding and programming but it only needs a person to be able to sketch out the idea and concept.

Prototype do not need to be full of details, as prototype is about building only the things you need, and it is not necessary to build the finished product. Leaving a few rough edges and blank spaces are fine as long as it accurately depicts proper user experience.

Set expectation about your prototype , ensure that people who will interact with it know what to expect, what its focus is and what you're hoping to learn from it.
