African relatives traded their own brothers and sisters for goods and riches. Some of those goods were lumber, furs, spices, gold, ivory, luxuries , rum, iron, gunpowder, weapons, cloths, and other tools. All of these materials were given to Africa for slaves. Also another side of the slaves is that there was a lot of biodiversity in Africa so Africans would kidnap kids and some people from other ethnic groups and sell them for money or goods.
