Chapter 1, Tom and the fence: Tom lives with his Aunt Polly and with his brother Sid. One Saturday, Aunt Polly sends him to paint the fence so that he learns to work, but since Tom is so smart, he convinces his friends to think that painting the fence is fun. They give him objects to let him paint for a while, and they end up painting the fence for him. Seeing him, Aunt Polly was glad and gave him a red apple.

Chapter 2, Huck Finn: The next day Tom and his brother went to Sunday school in the morning, and then went to Aunt Polly with the church. Tom was very bored and decided to drop a black beetle on the church floor. A dog started chasing him, and the beetle bit his nose, and the dog began to bark and run through the church. People were shocked and stopped paying attention to the reverend. Tom was happy because he had an interesting morning at church. It was Monday morning, and Tom had to go to school, on the way he stopped to talk to Huck, his father never worked and his mother died, just like Tom. He lived on the street and never went to school. He always did what he wanted. Huck told him that he would go to the cemetery that night, and Tom told him that he also wanted to go, and that he should pick him up at eleven o'clock at his home. Tom was late to school, but he met Becky Tatcher, a beautiful girl with blue eyes and blonde hair, and Tom really liked that girl.
At night Tom and Huck went to the cemetery, they wanted to go see Hoss Williams' grave, but something strange was not in the cemetery ...

Chapter 3, At the graveyard: Huck and Tom got scared because they thought there were ghosts in the graveyard, but they realized that they were real people, they were Muff Potter, Doctor Robinson and Injun Joe. They wanted Hoss Williams' dead body so that the doctor could study it. But Injun Joe wanted more money from Dr. Robinson, but he didn't want to, and they started fighting, Muff Potter wanted to defend Joe, but the doctor hit him and he fell unconscious to the ground. Then Injun Joe stabbed at Muff's knife. When he woke up Joe made him believe that he had killed him and the two of them ran away. Huck and Tom saw it all, but decided not to say anything because they were afraid of Injun Joe, since he is a dangerous man.

Chapter 4, The adventure on Jackson's Island: They all found out that Dr. Robinson had been killed, and believed that Muff Potter was the one who killed him, because the sheriff found his knife next to the corpse and put Muff in jail.
Summer came and Tom felt bad because he knew what had really happened and now an innocent person was in jail. So he decided to run away with Huck and Joe Harper, another friend of his, to Jackson Island. They spent several days there, and people were worried and started looking for them. On the day of the children's supposed funeral, they showed up at church and everyone was very happy to see them.

Chapter 5, The trial: Muff Potter's trial day came, Tom attended and the judge made him speak. Tom recounted what had really happened. Joe was on the trial, and upon hearing what Tom was saying, he ran away.
Tom was satisfied that he had done the right thing, but was still afraid of Injun Joe.
One day Tom told Huck that he wanted to find a treasure, and the two decided to go to an abandoned house to see if they could find it. But in the house they found Injun Joe with another man, they were there because they wanted to hide 650 dollars, but they found another treasure. Joe took everything and told his partner that he would hide the treasure on "the cross".Tom and Huck were very excited, they had found a treasure! They just had to find out where "the cross" was.

Chapter 6, Inside McDougal's Cave: That Saturday, it was Becky Thatcher's birthday, Tom attended the party, they had a delicious picnic and then went to visit McDougal's Cave, but Tom and Becky got lost. The next day, everyone knew that Tom and Becky were lost in the cave and everyone was worried. Becky was desperate and started crying, so Tom started looking for a way out.

Chapter 7, The treasure box: Tom, looking for a way out to get out of the cave, did he see a Injun Joe, but what was he doing there?
Finally Tom found an exit and he and Becky managed to get out of the cave.
A few weeks later, Tom went to Becky's house, his father told him if he wanted to go to the Cave of Dougal again, and Tom said that Indian Joe was there. They immediately went and found Joe's body. After Injun Joe's funeral, Tom went to see Huck, and told him he knew where the treasure was, it was in the cave! They decided to go to the cave and found "the cross", they dug underneath it and there was the treasure, they were rich! The treasure was brought to Aunt Polly's house, and she was very happy. They counted the money and it was 12,000 dollars! Tom and Huck split the money halfway. They had become the heroes of St Petersburg!

Becky Tatcher: She is Tom's friend, she is a beautiful girl with blue eyes and blonde hair, Tom likes her very much.

Tom Sawyer: He is the protagonist of the story, a very clever and naughty boy who lived with his brother Sid and his aunt Polly. He loves to play with his friends, fishing and swimming in the Mississippi River.

Huck Finn: He is Tom's best friend, he accompanies him in all his adventures. He lives on the street because his father never worked and his mother is dead.

Aunt Polly: She is Tom's aunt, she has white hair and wears glasses. She takes care of him, because Tom's mother died.

Muff Potter: He is a good man, and very innocent, he worked for Dr. Robinson, but he gets into trouble because of Injun Joe.

Injun Joe: He is a very big and strong assassin, he is a very dangerous and bad man.
