• Kurma(turtle)
• Varaha(pig/boar)
• Narasimha (half lion, half man)
• Vamana (dwarf sage with the ability to grow)
• Parasurama (fierce man/hunter)
• Rama (greatest warrior/ ideal man)

• Buddha (the all knowing)

In early texts, he was not associated with original seven solar gods. However, in later texts he was mentioned leading the solar gods.

Two of Vishnu's incarnations, Rama and Krishna, are also subject of the epic stories Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Ramayana: In the forest Sita was abducted by Ravana, and Rama gathered an army of monkeys and bears to search for her. The allies attacked Lanka, killed Ravana, and rescued Sita. In order to prove her chastity, Sita entered fire but was vindicated by the gods and restored to her husband.
Mahabharata: The Pandavas have to go into exile, but when they return they engage the Kauravas in battle.
