Why did we build Jewel just to enhance the airport?
In many large countries, the airport is just an airport. But for Singapore, the airport is a destination in itself. But why must an airport be a tourist destination as well?

Jewel was built to augment Changi Airport’s position as a leading air hub and to boost its appeal globally

Completely man-made but is a major component of the Changi Airport identity: SG lack natural resources so we have to build everything ourselves.

Part of our identity is that we are such an “artificial” country where almost everything is man-made.

By adding a wide variety of enetertainment, food and beverage, commercial factors in a single place that draws international crowds, Singapore is able to make money from almost everything they spend money on to profit back.

But why must we make money from everything?
