         <description><![CDATA[<p>One of John Locke's major beliefs was natural rights and he defined this as the right to life, liberty, and estate. and with this claim he argues that life liberty and estate are inherent to all people and are not granted by society or the state. Locke also believes that the role of the government is to protect these natural rights, and that these natural rights set the foundation of political society.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Lockes theory of social contract can be seen in the ideas on thomas jefferson when he wrote the deceleration of independence. the deceleration states that that "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government". Locke's idea that the government has a contract with the governed to uphold the ideas of natural right and out of interest of its citizens can be seen in the citation above because it shows the contract with the government and its citizens. and shows that that the citizens give the government the power and they can take away that power if they fail to uphold their part of the contract. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>the third major belief of john Locke is religious toleration and in this idea Locke says that the government is required to allow individuals and groups the ability to practice their own religion as they see fit but Locke says the religious toleration stops when a person or groups religious beliefs infringes on other citizens safety and enjoyment of their rights. Locke also states as part of religious toleration that no person or individual can be excluded from their natural rights based off their religious beliefs. </p>]]></description>
