Currently we have do not "officially" have a Talent ID Programme. If teachers spot potential, we just encourage the girls to change CCA. If we feel very strongly, we call the parent to consider whether want to explore other resources outside? Or change a CCA.

Based on personal experience, most of the talents that I spotted and scouted are in P5, which can be too late to prepare them for NSG and portfolio buliding for DSA. When do you start to scout talents?

How do we identify students who are not showing the skills set yet but has potential vs those who are already displaying those skills? What if we pick the latter but the former may be the better one?

Do you have a standardised "assessment tool" across all CCAs? Like for Performance 4/5, Attitude 4/5? So everyone has a fair chance of assessment? Those that have higher score will be approached to go for SPOT?

Thank you for the sharing! Once you "spot" the talent in your students from P3 and eventually prepares him/her for DSA. How do you follow-up with the student if he/she fails in all the DSA applications? How do you help the child cope with the rejections?

Currently we allow the kids to change CCA as and when. However, we don't encourage the change of CCA in p6. We will get the CCa teachers to identify kids who are talented in the CCA. The teachers will then ask the kids if they intend to pursue the CCa in sec school. If so, CCA teachers will guide them in DSA

I currently focus on sharing DSA pathways with students in the school team and their parents. My team and ai has also done up an sls package to provide more info and guidance. Currently, we have abt 2 successful DSA applicants per year and hope to achieve more!

Do you talk to parents about your SPOT structure and if so, do you have parents who insist on getting their child in the DSA even though their child do not show enough talent in a specific area? How do you manage that?
