I believe this because its something most americans take for granted on a daily basis. In other nations if they did the simple things like expressing an opinion could result in a death sentence. An example from my own life is when my religion. All over the world people are dying and being put on trial for their religion. This is very important because no matter our crime the consequences will be fair and reasonable for most cases. An example from my life is when i commited a crime and was given a sentence. In other countries they disregard age and would have treated me like an adult. I stole something and got caught and my punishment was spending a week in juvenile detention. This means if police or someone serving the law has a prejudice against you or just finds you suspecious they cant search you or seize anything in your possession without probable cause. This has helped me in my life because I've had illegal things on my person while i was in the backseat of a peers car.
