This was written in Hazel's point of view. "'Why didn't you ask to join us, back there, when you had a chance?' 'I don't know,' she said. 'I'm scared.' 'Scared of what?' I asked. 'Pizza?' 'Well it's too late now, anyway,' Mildred said." pg.207 I think that Mildred should have asked Christopher Goodman to come to have pizza. Even though she didn't know it then, that could have saved his life.

(For a week I even held out hope that you were jumping off rocks in some tangential world that had split off the instant before the bullets hit you.)

Is it God? Did God set up the dominoes and wait for some human to flick the first one? Or is it the opposite way around? Did humans set them up so God could do the flicking? And what about me? Did I set up a domino? And did I flick it? Either way, I'm glad I've got God who is tough enough to withstand my blame and gracious enough to forgive my guilt. I hope you can forgive it too.

Yours,
Squib"

This passage is my favorite because Squib shares his feelings about Christopher's death and he includes his theories about the death. pg. 262

One morning Doc and Squib were going on their early morning eight mile run for cross country training. About halfway through they came across what looked like a dead boy that was their age. Soon they realized (due to his bell-bottoms) that this was Christopher Goodman. They obviously called the police, and they soon found out the last time he was alive was the previous night, deadwood days. Before deadwood days Christopher came to the diner that Mildred and Hazel worked at everyday and eventually Mildred became friends with Hazel and she gained a crush on Christopher. Also before deadwood days Doc was delivering his newspapers and he came across what he thought was his mothers car in a parking lot. He thought that he would leave a note for her, so he opened the door (nobody locked their car doors in the summer here) and started to look for a pen in the glove box, then a man walked up to the car and asked him why he was in it. Doc said that this was his mother's car and he was leaving a note, long story short the man told Doc that this car is his and he called the police. Doc was searched for weapons, and obviously they didn't find anything, but Doc and his friends still seek revenge on this man, but before Doc could explain he drove away. One day Hunger and his friends were driving and they ended up running over a cat and a log, so they were stuck. Christopher Goodman ended up driving by Hunger and helped them get the car back on the rode and Christopher gave Hunger the idea to make the dead cat dance, and at his booth at deadwood days, their was a dead cat dancing on display.
