What Boston marriage represents to me comparing 2025 to 1886 when the word was first mentioned. In 1886 theyre weren’t any open same sex relations. They’re were relationships were men and women would be together and the man would support the women financially but not sexually or romantically. While this created a problem for the women because her needs romantically were not being served. Causing women to open up to one another.

But now in 2025 ‘Boston marriages’ no longer exist because same sex relationships are more open and common. In some cases you will see thruples which included two women and one man to their knowledge.
