What means nothing to you could mean the world to someone else. What the author was trying to remind us to see beyond ourselves and beyond our own point of view. So that we can see other people's point of view and feelings on things. By doing so it will better help us understand each other all around no matter who we are or what we are. The confederacy wanted to keep slavery. The south wasn't open to see hearing how they could change their way of acquiring cash crops through manufacturing and industrialism like the north. the reason the south didn't want to let go of their slaves was because that's who was picking all the major cash crops like Tobacco and cotton. The south were afraid of losing slavery altogether so they were determined to fight for the right to own slaves. This doesn't show anybody perspectives but his own. After the black lives matter protest started, people started all lives matter to make everybody equal but in these song lyrics he's saying that by saying all lives matter is just another way of oppressing black people because the protest black lives matter was meant to make people stop their racial oppression towards black people.In the book a Vogon asks "Tell me how good my poem was?" Arthur said "Actually i quite liked it."  while "ford was gasping for breath." In this scene Arthur saw his poetry as something positive while ford saw it bad and wanted him to stop. It causes him to feel more confident but he doesn't see how it's effecting everyone around him till he gets rid of it. While it was attached to him he could only see himself and how great he was but he didn't see all the people who cared about him and how they thought cause he was blinded by his limited view point of his own. similar in the way Marin the depressed robot sees earth. He can't help but only see how he felt just like Peter couldn't help the fact that he was acting different because of Venom being attached. while Arthur is telling Marvin " I was from a planet called earth...... It was a beautiful place." Marvin responds with "Did it have oceans?" Arthur replied "Great wide rolling blue oceans." Marvin then tells Arthur "Can't bear oceans."
