         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Castro joined an Anti- Corruption Orthodox Party in which he used to counter attack, in 1958, the efforts of Fulgencio Batista to get rid of the uprising in Cuba. <br>- The efforts of Batista failed, in 1959, Castro and his Party overthrew the military dictatorship of Cuba<br>- Then shortly after, Castro arrived in Havana and took over as Prime Minister<br>- During his leadership, Castro reduced Illiteracy, racism, and improved public Health Care in Cuba<br>- Castro was also criticized for the decreases in political and economic freedoms, along with Human Rights violations<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Almost 75% of Cuba’s imports came from the Soviet Union, in return, Cuba exported sugar, citrus, tobacco and nickel to the USSR<br>- With the death of the Soviet Union, the aid that Cuba received was reduced rapidly until there was no aid at all. This caused Cuba’s economy the quickly decline<br>- Fidel Castro attempted to get the attention of another foreign mother country, but his efforts were too late. <br>- Because of the disbanding of the Soviet Union, the Oil Imports dropped to 90%, this greatly affected Cuba’s transportation and agriculture. Cuba’s agriculture and transportation suffered because it relied on the oil imports <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- In 1961, the CIA launched an invasion of Cuba, which included 1,400 American- trained Cubans that fled their homes when Fidel Castro took over<br>- The invasion did not succeed, the invaders were very outnumbered by Castro’s troops<br>- Also, instead of the invasion being secret, there was a radio station that was broadcasting the invasion while it was happening for listeners all over Cuba. The Paratroopers landed in the wrong areas, and the hidden coral reefs ripped apart the invaders boats. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Kennedy, ordered a naval blockade around Cuba to stop The Soviet Union from continuing to send the missiles and military supplies. This action created the tension of a Nuclear War<br>- 6 days after, the missiles were removed from Cuba, and in return, the United States removed their missiles in Turkey and promised not to invade Cuba anymore. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Most of the modern events that happen in Cuba are Human Rights violations<br>-Cuba has had a recent increase of arbitrary short-term detentions from 172- 827 incidences <br>- The detentions are used to prevent people from participating in peaceful marches or politics.<br>- The "Detainees" are often beaten, threatened, of held for hours or days. <br>Cubans who speak out or criticize the government are often being threatened with prosecution and they often get harasses or assaulted </div>]]></description>
