My name is Teressa Caballero, and I’m a dedicated second-grade teacher with 8 years of experience, including 2 years as a lead teacher. I’m passionate about creating a fun, supportive, and engaging classroom where my students can thrive. Outside of school, I’m a proud mom to my 7-year-old daughter and the owner of a cheerful corgi named Gordo. I love spending my free time outdoors and hanging out with friends and family. Teaching and building connections with my students and their families bring me so much joy, and I’m grateful to be part of such a meaningful profession.

My philosophy centers on creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Learning should be a joyful and interactive experience, sparking curiosity and fostering a love for lifelong learning

I am committed to meeting each student's needs, recognizing their strengths, and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. By incorporating hands-on activities, collaboration, and critical thinking, I aim to develop well-rounded learners who are confident and capable problem-solvers. Building strong relationships with my students, their families, and the community is at the heart of my teaching.

I strive to cultivate a classroom rooted in respect, kindness, and a growth mindset. In this classroom, students feel safe taking risks, asking questions, and learning from mistakes. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves, celebrate their progress, and carry a positive outlook on learning throughout their lives.

Family involvement in a student’s education enhances student learning and overall success. When families actively participate in their child’s education, it fosters a strong home-school connection, reinforcing the value of learning inside and outside the classroom. "When parents are involved in their children's schooling, students show higher academic achievement, school engagement, and motivation..." (Standford, 2023). Parental involvement also helps build a supportive learning environment, boosts student confidence, and encourages a lifelong love for learning. By working together, families and educators can create a community that nurtures growth, curiosity, and success for every student.

Parent-Teacher Communication

The best way to get ahold of me during school hours is by email: tcaballero@myschool.org. I will respond on Monday morning if the email comes to me on Friday after school hours.

If there is an immediate change in pick-up plans, and it's close to dismissal, calling the office to let us know the specific changes is a great plan and efficient way for everyone to be on the same page.
