• Amanda: Personal life application using discernment on a daily basis to make conscious and good decisions regarding current events.  Then acting on it by illustrating "the fruit of the spirits" of a woman/man of integrity.

• Teacher life is setting the example by encouraging students to make wise choices.  To call students out if they are doing wrong, inappropriate, offensive, or disrespectful behavior.   Then follow with consequences as necessary.

• Dylan: As personal life application, I'd say that having discernment allows me to trust my judgement, and be aware of the judgement and choices of others

• Ana: I feel discernment is the ability to perceive and judge properly through intuition. It helps to understand and make better judgment on people.

• Dylan: In my teacher life, I'd say that having this gift allows us to also be good teachers of discernment, and guiding students from knowing right from wrong, and being good judges of character, morals, and just behavior

• Ana: Intuition is also a "gut feeling" that one gets. Therefore, we're able to assess feelings of those around us. We can practice empathy and caution with discernment.

Personal Life - Being willing to lend a hand to others without wanting anything in return. Helping others behind the scenes.

Classroom - being a support for students in anyway and being an open collaborator with colleagues.

In terms of the classroom, helping our students can be demonstrated in many ways. For instance, helping our students refine their essay outlines or helping them flush out some of their sentences. This can also include being a lending ear and letting them know that they are more than welcome to hang out in the classroom during nutrition, lunch, or after school.
