To help me understand I made a mind map of all the key parts of informathion that I need to know. This is very helpful for me as it lets me look back on it easier and it let me read throw the brief and pick out what I think is most important. I have come up with a few ideas that are around body image and I have done a lot of research already around these topics. I have made multiple mind maps to show my idea and my research, for me mind maps are the easiest way to show my idea and to explain it better because I can branch off from different points. I already knew that my target audience would be younger people as this problem effects them most. I done some research and it told me that at the age of 13 is when most people start to get body image problems. I 
have decided that my documentary will be aimed for 13-19 year olds as this topic effects them the most. I have also thought about the showcase at the end of the project because I need to think of a way to show all of my work that I have done. I thought of making a book with all of the work in it so I could show my journey through the book and I think its a nice way to lay it all out as well. I believe that the book is making me more creative because I want it to look nice and have lots of information in it. I have also started to look into the job role that I would like to do, I want to be director and camera operator as these are the two job roles I haven't done in awhile and I would like to push my skills in these and prove that I can do it. I do still need to do a lot more research about these job roles so I can have a clear understanding on what I have to do and whats it like in the real world so that is one of my targets for next week. Overall I am very happy with what I have made this week and the outcomes I have got. I decided to to make a Vox pop on what people thought about body image so I could get other peoples views on it and I also asked people that are my target audience as well so its more relevant feedback. I struggled a lot when making this video as I didn't feel confident going up to people I didn't know and ask them if I could film them. After awhile I got the confident to go up to people and ask them and everyone we asked was very helpful and was willing to help. By doing this bit of research it did show me that this topic is a issues and we need to talk about it more. I also looked into a few different documentaries so I could see how they layouts of the shots and if it was interesting to watch, because I'm camera operator this is something I need to look into because I want to get lots of different shots for my own video so it isn't boring. When watching the videos I liked that they used close ups shots of peoples faces so you could see the emotions they are feeling. I thought that was a good technique because it makes you feel what they are feeling and it gives the feel like you are their with them as well. I looked at a documentary called " Annie out of the ashes", when I looked at who worked on this video it showed me that the producer, director and camera operator was the same person which is very similar to what we have to do for our own video. This showed me that this wasn't a big budget video and one person had to do a lot of work to get it done which is what it will be like for the FMP. This tells me that it is possible to make a really good documentary and you don't need a lot of people working on the project so that gives me hope for my own video. For next week I hope to do more experiments so I can get feedback from them so I know that the idea I am going for people will like. I decided to film a short video which was all about how I feel about body image and it took me a lot to do this because its subject I find hard to talk about as I have struggled with it for a long time. Doing this video was the best thing I could of done because its very similar to what I want to do for the FMP and people really related to it which is what I wanted. I wanted people to get emotional when watching it and show them that they aren't alone. When I got feedback people started to tell me that they felt the same way and they really linked with the video. People thought the music went really well with the video as it was very powerful but it linked with the topic as well which made it more emotion to watch. Overall I am so happy with this outcome and it also showed me that people would watch that topic. One of the feedbacks I also got was that it was a bit long, I feel like it seemed a lot longer then what it was because it was just me and we didn't use a lot of B roll. In the main video I will be using B roll so it brakes up the clips more and so no one gets bored at any point. Another task I done this week was the project proposal and the action plan, this was something I really struggled with in the music video unit as I was unclear on what to include and I struggled with having a word count as I always write to much. I feel like I have improved from last time as I looked back on my feedback so I could make sure I knew what I could of done better. I also put a lot more detail onto my action plan which is something didn't do last time and that is why I didn't get a good grade on it. But I took more time on it so I covered everything I need to do over the FMP. I also done my job profile which I found very helpful as I could acknowledge what skills I need for my job roles. I also set what paperwork I need to do for both my job roles and this helped when doing the action plan as I could include when I was doing certain parts. I believe I have done a lot of work this week that has helped my idea grow more and give me a better understanding on what the audience likes. For my project proposal I did start to plan it out on paper first so I knew what I had to include in each box but for me this made it a lot harder as I was overthinking what I had to include. In the end I decided to just go with it and just look back on my work to help me. This was something I did struggle with because of the word count as I kept going over my limit. I got a member of my class to look at my work which I thought was a good idea because its someone different looking at my work and making sure I have included everything. By doing this it showed me that I didn't talk about what I thought "opportunity" was, as this is the key word for this unit it is impotent that I talk about it. By doing the summary of research it let me look back on what I have done over the past three weeks and it let me pick my strongest bits of research and talk about them. I do think I wrote a lot for this and I went into a lot of detail for each part of my work so I could make sure I was aiming for a high grade. Overall I am happy with how much work I have done in this week and making sure that I met my deadlines as I don't want to fall behind on any of my work.

For example I looked at professional storyboards,  from movies so I would get a better understanding on what you need to include on them and I looked at all the different layouts I could use. In the end I decided to make my own layout which I thought was useful for me because it let me design it to what makes it easier for me to understand and follow. I also looked at what different arrows means which means when I do my own storyboard I can include them which shows the different movement I might want in that shot. I did a test run of making a storyboard so it could give me an idea on what I need to improve on for next time. I struggled with drawing the images for each shot as I'm not good at drawing so this did take me awhile to do. To overcome this I could take images of what I want it to look like which might make it easier to follow. 

I also looked at professional film company logos which I thought would be a good idea to do because then I can see what is successful and what stands out the most. When looking into all the different logos I noticed that they all stick to a similar colour theme which is white, black and yellow. These colours are very eye catching which is probably the reason why they picked those colours. I took inspiration from a few of them by using images of "film" which I thought I could play around with and make a logo that stands out. I made sure that I stuck with a colour theme like the professionals have done as that seems like it does work and people remember them which is what I want for my own company. This week I also updated my production schedule and making sure I have included everything I need and that I have given myself enough time to do everything. I do still need to add to the schedule as my team mate wasn't in all work so I couldn't look at her schedule which meant I couldn't merge mine and hers together so this is something I will need to do next week when she is back. I also got feedback on my project proposal and summary of research. I was really happy with the feedback I got as there wasn't a lot wrong with it but one of the things I'm struggling with is reading my work back and making sure it all makes sense so I have decided that I'm going to read my work to someone so I can see where I have gone wrong. I decided to do the rest at home because I knew I wouldn't to spend longer on the storyboard so this might of meant I would of ran out of time to do another bit of my paperwork. I thought this was a good idea for me because it let me just focus on the storyboards as when I did my test run, I struggled with making them because I didn't think the images were very clear and I thought it might be hard to follow. I decided to do two storyboards, one was for my interview shots and another for my B roll clips. I believe this worked well for me because it let me identify what each clips are for because the B roll would look very similar to the interview shots. Even though they haven't done this in the industry I found that it worked for me and it made it easier for me to follow and understand. I believe my storyboard could be better as the images do look the same and I struggled with showing different camera angles. In the end I had to write what camera angle I was planning on using because it was unclear from the images. I am really happy with how my talent release form came out because I did look at a few different industry layouts so I knew information to include because I wanted it to come across professional and that we are taking it seriously. The talent form is a key bit of paperwork I will need as I'm looking at putting our documentary forward for the Barnes Film Festival. I want to put our video forward because I believe the topic we are doing is very important and is talked about a lot lately. I hope by putting the video forward more people will see it and hopefully take something from it that might make them feel better about their body or show them that they aren't alone with how they feel. Overall I believe I am on track for filming next week as we have done all the paperwork and booked the equipment and room. I printed off all of the talent forms so I could make sure I got the interviewees to sign them as this is something the industry would have to do as well, just incase the interviewee changed their mind after filming. If that was to happen that would mean we would of wasted a lot of time filming then not being aloud to use the footage. We made sure we started setting up an hour before we were meant to film as this gave us enough time to get the room ready and do checks to make sure the camera and the sound was good quality. When we were filming it was very stressful because we had two fire alarms which meant we had to keep turning everything off as we thought we had to leave the building but in the end it was only a test. People also kept coming in and out of the motion room as people needed equipment that is kept in the room we were in. This was very annoying at times because we would be mid filming then someone would come in and mess up the flow of what the interviewee was saying so that meant we had to restart the question. We did put a sign up saying we was filming but no one took any notice of it. After filming on Tuesday we wasn't really happy with the clips we got because there wasn't any emotion in what they were saying and that is a key thing we was looking for. In the end we decided to film on Thursday with someone different which had a good story about body image, which is what we were looking for. We are still going to use the other clips and mix them together but we are much happier that we have a real life story and it also shows emotion which is what we wanted. One of the main problems we had after filming was trying to save all of the clips onto my memory stick as there wasn't enough room on it. In the end I had to save most of the clips on my tutors hard drive to make sure all of the footage was safe and easy to get to. I don't believe this would happen in the industry as they would make sure to have enough space to store everything. We did try multiple computers but we still had this same issue with the ones we went one. We are still unclear why it was so slow because it was working for others in our class. But with the little bit of editing we got done, we wasn't  happy with the content we have because it doesn't make sense when you put all the interviews together and it isn't what we wanted the video to be like. Because of this we are planning on filming next Thursday with someone completely different as he is a tattoo artist. We have decided to film him because it shows a different side of body image and why people choose to get tattoos which will permanently change how someone looks. I believe it will be a good contrast to film both sides of this topic because then you can compare. 
Our schedule has changed a bit because I wanted filming to be done by this week but because of the tattoo artist availability means we are filming in the following week as well. it isn't that much of a problem but it does only leave us a week to edit which isn't what I wanted because I wanted at leat two weeks so we could take our time and not get stressed out with it all. I also wanted to get feedback from the video so we could improve the video with what people say. This means we are going to need to work extra hard to make sure we get everything done on time but i do believe we will still meet the deadline which is the main thing.

I looked at how to get to the tattoo shop as I didn't want to be unclear on where I was going on the day as I didn't want to be late. I also researched on where the nearest car park was because I would need to know how far it is as I got to carrie the equipment and I wouldn't want it to be unsafe just in case anything happened to me or the equipment. I believe the filming went really well as we got a lot of interesting shots that would be great in the documentary. The tattoo artist that we was interviewing was running late so we took this opportunity to film a bit of B roll around the shop and outside. I believe this is something the industry would do as it shows that your not wasting anytime and some of the clips might be useful for the video. We decided to film outside which I was a bit worried about because the sun kept going in and out and there was a bit of noise from the cars but luckily I brought a mic with us which should have just got him talking and if it picks up a bit of the background sound we can try and edit it out, same with the changing of the lighting we can try and change the colour balance so all the clips look the same. Overall Im very happy with how film ing went as everyone was very lovely in the tattoo shop and was willing for us to film them working and showing us their tattoos.
I also started making another poster as the original one I made we won't be using anymore because the people on it won't be in the video anymore. For our new poster I looked at a lot of different images online to try and get some inspiration and I also looked at how other posters were laid out so I can see what works and what is popular already. I believe they would have to do this in the industry because research is key and you want to make sure you are making an successful and appropriate poster for your project. I believe I have done this and from the feedback I got it shows that people likes it as it stands out and it gets the message across very well.

We was a bit behind on the editing process because we filmed later then what we planned and because there has been maths and english exam  which has impacted in our schedule as we wasn't allowed in media to do our work . We all this going on we have made sure to try and work extra hard to try and meet this deadline but we wasn't successful as the video isn't fully finished but we hope by next Tuesday it will be all done as we only have to make little changes just to finalise it all. In the industry this wouldn't be acceptable as you need to meet all your deadlines no matter what and the person we are making the video for wouldn't  be happy that it isn't done on time. 
I also made sure we got our poster printed off so I could display them around college so people could see what is going on and hopefully get more people coming to the showtime. I thought about where I was putting them because I wanted to make sure they standout when your walking into the room so it will be more visual for people and not just putting them in corners or places people might not go or see them. 
I also looked online at a few items that we wanted to get for the showtime to make our space standout more as we believe if we have a creative work space more people will want to come over to find out what is going on. When looking online I found some fairy lights that you can add images on which I thought would be a good idea to show that me and my team have worked together for three years and show our journey at college together. We have also got some sweets which might bring the younger age group to our table as they will want some sweets.
