The example one or two are still related to the labelling theory. Drink alcohol and tobacco are widely known as the safer way to relax people’s nerve, which can be less addictive, less toxic than marijuana according to academic research. Drink alcohol for daily beverage and tobacco for cigarette are two major economies in almost every country. Thus, people who own these economies will not let the marijuana industry split the interest. The safety of drink alcohol and tobacco have been proved by the academic research, where owners of these industries will take advantage to persuade people to better take alcohol or tobacco, instead of marijuana. That’s why there are tons of advertisements for alcohol and cigarette but none for marijuana. People are being exposed to the ads of alcohol and cigarette; thus, they clearly know these products are relatively safe for their health, and they can buy it without being caught by police. The public will have a natural acknowledgement that alcohol and tobacco is just fine. However, the marijuana, which people rarely know about and can be hardly access, will be defined as bad in the public. And media also helps to degrade the use of marijuana, bad people, criminals are often being labelled as marijuana intake. 
the example b can also be explained by the labelling theory. Gun industry also bring huge profit. Governments, politicians, billionaires are all have its back; they will promote guns by using the contradiction that guns help people defend their rights, regardless of the violent it will bring. They will highlight people who own guns shoot the thief, protecting the gun owners from being stabbed. People will embrace the gun because politicians made them to think guns can protect themselves. Saggy pants are an obvious symbol of gangsters, rappers, black community. People will be labeled as bad people if they wear like this.

So it depends on the modern trend of this society. Of course if this society is ruled by people who label the theory, then no matter how many ''abnormal people'' are there, it is useless.

There is a reason for this labeling theory, drinking and smoking may not be as high for input and addiction relative to marijuana or cocaine, and of course both are addictive, it all depends on the amount. But there are still many stereotyped images of people who think marijuana and cocaine are more addictive than drinking and smoking. So the label theory was formed.

b. At this point, the problem with the labelling theory has risen to racism.
