Questions:

Working at a skilled nursing facility, Sullivan's interpersonal theory resonated with me because I often see it at care plan meetings where the interdisciplinary team deems it unsafe for her to go back home and recommends that she stay at an LTC facility. Through their own fears and anxiety, they think that we are taking away their way of life. But as a part of IDT, we have the responsibility to ensure that the patient can thrive upon d/c. The concept of attachment theory is suited for this scenario because it highlights the change in behavior through their fear of abandonment and rejection. Which can be related to Yalom’s universality factor

Question: In this scenario, in what ways could you have handled this situation?
