The prisoners were stuffed in a rail cart like animals and were forced to throw out the people that died in the cart. I think it is implicit.

Chapter 8- The theme is selfishness. Elie starts to have thoughts about abandoning his dad and fighting for him self. This is explicit

Chapter 9- The theme is don't give up. The prisoners did not give up and they were finally liberated. This is implicit.

Nobel Prize Speech- The theme is silence. Elie directly states that to remain silent/neutral only helps the oppressor

In the train there were dead bodies, the soldiers starved people, like they threw a little piece of bread and people fought over it.If someone cries in the train they get killed immediately.The theme of this chapter is angriness since Ellie and his dad just getting tired of this.
Ch.8- To truly help people, your only intentions should be to help, not to gain anything.
Ch.9-  It’s been 11 since he came in Buchenwald, nothing mattered to him since his father died. The allies were coming to free jews from camps, but the SS officers keep moving the prisoners to an underground building and blow up the camp. Then the American tanks come through the door of Buchenwald and  Ellie wakes up in a hospital with food poisoning. The theme of this chapter is sadness and some happiness since he still sad about his father, but he’s finally free from the camp.
