It is believed that <em>Common Sense</em> was one of the main contributing factors in colonists revolting against England. It also greatly influenced the government, because it convinced so many people that a democracy is better than a monarchy.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thomas Paine grew up in Thettford, Norfolk, England. He was born on January 29, 1737 and died June 8th, 1809 in New York. Thomas once tried to board a ship called the Terrible, commanded by Captain Death, because it was his dream to work on a ship. Thankfully, his father stepped in and prevented that from happening. He mainly apprenticed under his father as a job.<br>In 1774, he met Benjamin Franklin, who persuaded him to immigrate to the United States, where he started his political career.<br><br></div>]]></description>
