My role at the ISC: Centre Director - to oversee the smooth operations of the ISC.

I've worked at the ISC since: October 2021 and before that I worked in North Wales and in London.

About me: Having worked at a number of UK universities and colleges and have seen almost every possible student journey. As the Centre Director it's my job to make sure that we are preparing you to succeed in your studies and I enjoy bringing all of my experiences of both UK and international education to Lancaster University ISC to make your experience as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

My teaching background is in film and media, so I'm always happy to talk about the latest blockbusters and indie films around the world.

My piece of advice to students: Be inquisitive. We will give you a fantastic start to your studies in the UK, but we want YOU to want to know more. My role at the ISC: Head of Quality and Innovation

About me: I have worked in education for  20 years, teaching and managing learning on courses up to and including L7 and in partnership with a number of universities. Before joining the ISC at Lancaster, I managed teacher training for a number of years and before that taught on a number of different degree programmes, including those in Management, Marketing and HR. I  have a Masters Degree in Education and an undergraduate Honours Degree in Russian - which meant I spent the 3rd year of my degree living in Russia and Ukraine as part of my studies!

My piece of advice to students: UK higher education may be very different from your previous experience of education. To get the most out of your studies have a open and enquiring mind and be prepared to leave your comfort zone.

About me: Academic English Skills (AES) Coordinator and PhD in Linguistics (Cognitive Linguistics, Multimodality and Critical Discourse Studies) at Lancaster University. I am an outdoors enthusiast, and I do rock climbing or go for a long walk in the Lake District when I have the time.
My piece of advice to students: Focus on managing your time efficiently from the very beginning of your studies, it will make your life so much easier!
