There is so many stereotypes and people are so brainwashed by these gender roles that they think nothing wrong of it. Shows, books, and stores do it without noticing it. society thinks its natural for women to cook, clean, and to take care of children. Society also thinks the word "man" means to be strong. Society expects men to be strong and to work, not to show emotion and to always bring the money. Apparently men are in charge of everything. People often get offended or angry even when they see a woman in a movie being in charge of something of an army they say its not natural. "She cant be handling a gun, she should be handling a pan instead" This is in no way acceptable if a man can do it, anyone can do it, no one is superior.

Girls can not play with toy cars and boys can not play with barbie dolls because "its wrong" something so little like this should not even be labeled either. If these close minded people could not even tell off a "girl toy to a boy toy" then there should be no difference because it needs no label it is just a toy, an object. nothing should be labeled like this.

Change in Gender Roles

Gender roles in the 1950s to now has been a huge difference, but I do not think that there has been so much of a change. Perhaps maybe in my generation there has been major changes. I'd say my generation has been very open about everything but that is all thanks to past generations. If it was not for them then we would not even by trying to be breaking these gender roles. Gender roles have been going for so long and I think that is because families are used to being raised that way. Now a days teens do not judge one another. Every sport is for everyone. Every hobby is for everyone. We have even got some big shopping stores like target to aim to be gender neutral that is a nice step!

Everything in society is all about equality now. It does not matter if you are male or female. I do not see things as only a man can do this and only a women can do this. Even though gender equality has imporved the couple of years intellecually there is no mental difference.

It's still a slow process. It should not take people long for people to realize that the border between genders should have long ago been minimal or better yet non existent. The difference between individuals should not be catergorized by physical capabilities.
