When it comes to gender equality & mental health, I pay a lot of attention to raising awareness among those around me in my everyday life.

What is your connection to the project:

Making an impact has always been important to me. The voice of the youth is not heard enough & should be heard - therefore I value such conferences where young people can come together to talk about & try to fight the persistence of global inequalities.

Where I make an impact: I support a friend in Kenya who has initiated a project to provide children in a school near her home with one hot meal a day.

Connection to the project: In 1995 my grandmother built a school in Kenya that now educates over 200 pupils. I have already visited the school myself and initiated an exchange of letters - so I am very interested in the fate of young people in Africa!

I joined this project because, because I like to exchange ideas with other people and get to know other perspectives.

Currently I´m a board member of the Austrian Youth Council (BJV), the Austrian Darts Federation and the NGO “Gut, und selbst? Initiative”. At times I guide Soft Skills seminars for Pupils.

Why I joined the project:

I have always found it very interesting, how to discuss crucial topics on a wider field than the national level and find global solutions to the problems of our generations. So I am really happy to take part in the JUUN Dialog and contribute a little bit to a stronger joint youth work

What I call my "home":

Home is where I feel cherished. A home is a place that I want to return to/see again. It doesn't necessarily have to be a physical place though. For me, a memory or friendship can also represent home. One physical place I associate with home is my grandparent's house in Samaschki (Chechnya). Another is the town in Germany (Darmstadt) where I spent my elementary school years. But home is also the moment when I open the door of my flat and see that my cat is already awaiting me.

I like to write prose and poems.

Where do you make an impact & what is your connection to the project topics?

I'm a scout and a paramedic. I'm actively involved in the Salzburger Jugendlandtag and additionally I was a participant of the Austrian Youth Conference 2023.

Besides that I love to spread awareness among those around me in my everyday life. My favourite topics to discuss: climate politics, gender equality, mental health, inclusion

Where do I call home?

Everywhere, where I am welcomed to be myself and everywhere, where I am given the space to flourish. Austria has been that place for me, so I call it home.

A fun fact about me:

My name translates to honey. My parents really thought: ,,what a sweet daughter. Let’s call her honey at this point“ So, if you forget my name, just call me honey- quite literally!

Where do I make an impact?

Youth empowerment and participation; Women and young girls rights; Empowerment of people with immigration background and minority;

I believe also that I make an impact in my every day life with every day people, in the way that I talk and act! We have tremendous effect on others, if we are aware of it!

What is my favorite song?

Not an easy question! I love music and especially piano music & classical pieces. However there is one piece that truly has my heart and that is ,,Interstellar’s main theme“ I fell in love with it when I watched a random cover of it in public:

What is your connection to the project topics: youth, inequalifies, international cooperation?

I have been participating in a few other projects which have made little steps possible for me and through this process , I have made the connection to this project!

For example I was a part of the ,,MutinfluencerInnen-Projekt“ where I used my writing and published a book with a little story! I was also given the opportunity to talk live on TV ( Puls Vier) about exactly the topic: Young changemakers!

Recently I have also become part of a project from ,,Ashoka“ also for empowering youth to make changes happen.

Beside all this, I write and I am currently working on two podcasts ( one for my school community) and one separate from that for my writings.

Why did I join this project?

Honestly, why not? This is a great chance to connect and learn and grow. It relates to what I am doing in general as well, so it’s just wonderful!
