They did not. On August 6th, 1945, The Enola Gay plane dropped the first Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima. It killed 70,000 people but Japan continued to still not surrender. They dropped their second Atomic Bomb three days later in Nagasaki.

It also caused major damage to humans too, giving them cancer. 

This shows the enduring issue of Environmental Impact because the herbicide damaged plants and weeds in the process. It was also used in WWI for spying and heavy bombing. It was also very hard to take them down.

This shows the enduring issue of Environmental Impact because just like Atomic Bombs, it damaged land and buildings.
