-She welcomes her students to the classroom every morning.
-When giving lessons, she communicates with them and asks them questions as she goes.
-Before having students start on their work, she models for them what they will need to do. She does this verbally and physically and allows time for any questions the students may have to be answered.

They stay engaged and pay close attention to the teacher and know the procedures of listening while your teacher is talking.
-Every morning the students spend time writing and are allowed choice in what they write about so long as it follows a specific topic. For example, writing about something that makes them excited.
-On this day, students worked in groups. They were able to engage with each other by reading a story and filling out a template on the story. They were allowed to work together and help each other. She allows time for higher order questioning throughout her instruction and allows students to work together and engage with others. Every morning she has the students do a sustained writing on a topic she provides. It really helps improve their writing and allows for one-on-one help from her as she walks around.
