At A+ APTC youths can get help with homework, utilize the computer lab and learn about their culture. They can participate in sports competitions, music, art, and volunteer projects. 

A+ APTC youth development program provides young people on Statia the chance to learn new skills, find potential career paths and receive guidance from professional youth leaders -- all while having fun. 

Family programs take place throughout the year to involve and educate parents.

A+ APTC is funded in great part by the Island and Dutch governments, but we endeavor to acquire additional funds to improve the program from donors like you.

In the past year, Culture Clash Caribbean has emerged as a dynamic foundation dedicated to empowering youth in the Dutch Caribbean. Our mission is to forge connections between youth in the Dutch Caribbean and their counterparts in the Netherlands and Europe, fostering understanding and collaboration across cultures. We believe in building bridges through our focus on four key pillars: Identity, Nature, Culture, and Caribbean entrepreneurship.

Our primary objectives are clear:

- Empowering Youth: We are committed to providing young people with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

- Promoting Intercultural Learning and Dialogue: We strive to create spaces where diverse perspectives can be shared, celebrated, and understood.

- Advocating for Environmental Responsibility and Entrepreneurship: We champion initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and economic empowerment.

- Upholding Human Rights and Social Justice: We stand for equality, justice, and the dignity of all individuals, advocating for a fair and inclusive society.

At the heart of our work is a dedication to providing a platform for underprivileged youth to express themselves through arts and culture. Through creative expression, we aim to amplify their voices and drive positive change in their communities. Ultimately, we believe that by nurturing young leaders and fostering global connections, we can work towards a more peaceful and harmonious world.

We accomplish our mission through a variety of initiatives, including:

1. Training Courses: Providing practical skills and knowledge to equip youth for personal and professional success.

2. Youth Exchanges: Facilitating meaningful exchanges between young people from different backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.

3. Youth Seminars: Creating spaces for dialogue, learning, and growth, where youth can explore important issues and develop their leadership skills.

Our target audience is youth aged 18 to 30 living in the Dutch Caribbean, but our impact extends far beyond geographical borders. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for youth in the Dutch Caribbean and beyond. Join us in our journey towards empowerment, dialogue, and positive change.

What are the activities and experience of the organization in the areas relevant for this application?

Culture Clash Caribbean, though relatively new, has swiftly integrated into the youth work landscape with a focus on fostering collaboration, empowerment, and cultural exchange. Here's a glimpse into our regular activities and experiences:

1. Youth Engagement Events: We organize regular events tailored to engage young people in meaningful dialogue, skill-building workshops, and recreational activities. These events serve as platforms for youth to voice their opinions, share experiences, and connect with peers locally and internationally.

2. Partnerships with Local NGOs: Collaboration is at the core of our approach. We work closely with established local NGOs such as Friends of Sea Turtles, Stichting Felis, Green Fenix, and Caribbean Youth and Sport Foundation. Through these partnerships, we leverage resources, expertise, and networks to maximize our impact on youth development initiatives.

3. Skill-Building Workshops: We conduct training sessions and workshops aimed at equipping young people with essential life skills, leadership abilities, and entrepreneurial know-how. These workshops cover a range of topics including environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, digital literacy, and personal development.

4. Youth Exchanges and Cultural Immersion Programs: Culture Clash Caribbean facilitates youth exchanges and cultural immersion programs that bridge the geographical and cultural divides between the Dutch Caribbean and Europe. These exchanges provide opportunities for young people to broaden their horizons, deepen their understanding of different cultures, and forge lasting friendships across borders.

5. Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns: We are actively involved in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about pressing issues affecting youth in the Dutch Caribbean. From environmental conservation to social justice, we advocate for positive change and empower young people to become agents of transformation in their communities.

6. Networking and Collaboration: Building a strong network of like-minded organizations and individuals is essential to our work. We actively seek opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and resource mobilization to amplify the impact of our youth development initiatives.

Despite being a new organization, Culture Clash Caribbean is committed to filling the gaps in youth work in the region and creating pathways for young people to connect, learn, and thrive. Islanders live in natural isolation which may elevate the feeling of a gap between the island and mainland. With a history of colonization this gap is further deepened, adding another layer to

the islanders’ quest for advancement. Young people are again taxed with their quest to gain

experience, which is precisely the gap OKFCW aims to bridge.

OKFCW envisions a future where citizens take charge of their destiny by actively participating in and with their community.

As islanders, the main way of dealing with new developments is to recombine existing solutions, which is

its own form of innovation. Many of the determining factors in the future are in development now and OKFCW introduces these to young people so that they have an advanced indication on not only on how to react to these developments, but also how to partake in them as creators.

Our strategy is to create welcoming spaces for the youth to experiment with their ideas. As technology progresses many are those that see value in their application, and ambition to implement what they see functioning abroad. We achieve this through laboratories, awareness campaigns and by executing

projects.

We aim to achieve a more dynamic youth population. A future driven alumni who can translate the future into today.

The Territorial Collectivity of Martinique (CTM) is a unique French administrative body established on January 1st, 2016, through the merger of the Regional Council and the General (Departmental) Council of Martinique. It is a single territorial authority governed under Article 73 of the French Constitution, which gives it the combined responsibilities of both a region and a department.

Governance

• Assembly of Martinique: 51 elected members, responsible for decision-making and budget approval.

• Executive Council: 9 members, chaired by a President (currently Serge Letchimy), responsible for implementing policies.

The Court of Guardianship (CoG) is Sint Maarten’s dedicated champion for child rights and youth wellbeing. Operating as the island’s central child protection authority under the Ministry of Justice, the CoG tackles child abuse and neglect, oversees custody and adoption cases, and supports youth in conflict with the law
