She is intelligent, loyal, loving and kind.

My mother - I appreciate my mother for her resilience and strength. I know she would do anything for me, my siblings and my niece and nephew. She taught me how to love.

My sister - My sister is one of my best friends. I hope she knows how much I love her.

My aunts - I have a lot of aunts whom I value and appreciate. My godmother, Aunt Sue Claire, is one of my biggest supporters, and her belief in me makes me believe in myself. My Aunt Pat passed away recently, and she was an eccentric goddess who battled Parkinson's disease with grace and dignity - may she Rest In Peace. My Aunt Terry has always been close and available to my family, and she has an amazing sense of humor. My Aunt Mary made me want something she had, and inspired me to become a teacher. My Aunt Linda is brilliant and powerful, and she makes everyone she speaks with FEEL that she cares.

My grandma - My late grandmother was the matriarch of our family. When I'm trying to distinguish right from wrong, I often think of her.

My students: I teach a lot of powerful young women, and I'm eager to see how they will change the world. The future is female.
