One day, my friends persuaded me into changing it. Once I  tried it out, I saw that it didn't look bad at all. 
How does this relate to my theme? 

This example relates to the theme because it shows how I was hesitant about change, tried it out, then realized that it wasn't so bad.

I was surprised about how things looked at me and thought how it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would 

How does this relate to my theme? 

This example relates to the theme because it shows how, once again, I was nervous about trying new things.
