If you are simply replacing a paper-based activity with technology use it is not PL. Personalized learning tools are not "baby sitter" for students.

 Also, it is important for teacher to release control so that students can develop learning (and life) skills to be successful beyond high school we need to teach and coach them now by allowing them to mange their learning. This will lead to greater success after high school.  

It is also important to allow students to demonstrate mastery when they reach mastery NOT when the whole class is ready to demonstrate mastery.
