This is a great way to remind student of what they should be doing and makes them feel good and affirms their need to do these tasks.

I hope to have an organized classroom, because this helps make students feel secure and not overwhelmed.

If I have learning ANYTHING at all, it would have to be to just be positive. Life throws curveballs, not just for you as a teacher, but also for your students. Everybody will have negative days, and you as a teacher are the role model, so be positive! My life motto is, "Why be the rain when you can be the sunshine?" So basically what I mean is, be the reason that student smiles, or brightens their day a little bit. Make them WANT to learn. BE POSITIVE. Stalk up on corny puns and jokes. Let students have a "CREATE DAY" and let them do their hobbies (play music, draw, color, photography, abstract art, technology design, sewing, etc...)

Students DO NOT respond well when a teacher is quick to anger. In fact it will become a game to them if they are able to get under your skin. So, in a sense, "play dumb", act like whatever they say (if it is meant to directly be hurtful toward you), almost doesn't make sense. "This assignment is so dumb, you make the most stupid assignments Miss H." -My response would be something along the lines of, "Well then it should be easy for you to complete." or something else, for example, "This one might be done, but that means that the next one might be better." Put a smile on a move on with your life.
