In term 1.1 we studied poetry.

The anthology of poetry we studied focused on childhood. 

My favorite poem we studied was “first day of school.

The skills we developed in this unit wear retrieval,inference and analysis.

We also worked on how to write an analytical essay.

Strength 

I am able to use evidence and ideas in my poem.

 And I am mostly using clear,accurate and focused points about the poem.

I mostly use paragraphs to structure the article’s argument.

I am mostly able to use logos effectively-the language is moving,emotive and appealing to the audience.

Target 

My target is to use accurate and effective use of a range of sentence structure.

I need ambitious vocabulary used accurately and effectively.

I need to explore the connections of language.

Term 1.2

In term 1.2 we have been studying persuasive speeches.

We analyzed some speeches made by famous people.

We also worked on writing our own persuasive speeches.

Strength

I am able to use statistics.

I am able to show clearly that I am writing a speech.

I am able to show the purpose in my speech.

Target 

I need to think about the words I have used.

I need to think carefully about my target audience when I am writing.

I must remember to use a range of perspective devices.

I need to try to include more emotive language.

In my English lesson next term I must ensure that I take more risks,be more independent,be more collaborative and focus more.
