Since 2013 I admire Onika Tanya Maraj or Nicki Minaj.

At age 11 Nicki ran away from home. Because her father was alcoholic and beat his mother .

I chosed Nina Simone, because she is my favorite artist. She was born in the United States at the time of racial segregation. She was a brilliant pianist, singer and activist for therights to the afroamerican people. Nina suffered discrimination from child since she was young. When she was 10 years, she had a first concert to piano, and sent her parents to sit behind and give their sites to white people, this moment marked she forever.

She had a protagonist role in the movement for the civil and political rights to the afroamerican people, she proved that the art and the music are political tools for the revolution. She composed iconic songs for the black power, for example: "Young, gifted and black", "Revolution", "Mississippi Goddam", "Ain't got no / I got life" "Four women", "Black is the color of my true love's hair", "Backlash blues", "Work song", and others. She died in 21 april to 2003.
