Never been good at presentation, or talkig, or telling. I did practice at home and school A LOT. But every time I'm in front of somebody I forget everything I supposed to say. And that happened this time also.

But really, after all, I am pretty proud of myself. This was my first presentation in English EVER. 2 months ago I have not even spoken in English publicly to anyone. And there I was, speaking in front of 20 people. It felt good when it was done. When it was over. Until "one more thing..." we have to do another one later.

What kind of a CV is good CV? It should be clear, interesting and different from others. But how can you do it in practice? Everyone likes and notices different things. Someone is conservative and want that job-hunter is as professional as possible, someone else likes humor and notice you right away if you write something witty. So I think it is a hit-and-miss situation. You should be yourself and try everything you can, everything that comes after that doesn't depend on you. Maybe I am a bit naive, but that is my thought.

Ps. The lattice game was fun!

Today we were talking about ethics and discussed how ethical is our company that we were presented a few weeks ago. I realized that there isn't fully ethical companies, at least huge ones. Everyone is doing something that is contradictory with some morals and ethics. For me fashion itself is the most interesting industry. It encapsulates inside culture, history, revolution and self-expressions thought centries. But it is a bit sad, that nowadays manufacture became too rough. The way clothes are made (and by who they are made), production of cotton and leather, I don't even wanna talk about fur and dawn industry... Fast fashion became a trend and people don't even realize what they are doing, or they just don't want to.

Today was our's second presentation. We were talking about this year's flu season, where it came from, how it attacks our's economy and how we can prevent the virus spreading in our school.

The presentation went great. I become more and more self-confident when talking in front of people, even in English. Maybe I even learned something about myself and what helps me in this kind of situations.

I do need to prepare well, not just remember what I need to talk about.

I have to have my well-made speech.

When I was a little girl at the age of 7, we had to learn poems in Russian school. So I sat in front of my desk for hours at home, trying to memorize the entire poem because I had to present it next day. Ooh, the memories... So in this case things were the same.

Here is my speech for those who didn't listen:

There are 3 types of influenzaviruses. A, B and C.
Types A and B causes more serious disease and C is usually less aggressive. It is also less common than the other types.

Ours H3N2 belongs to influenzavirus type A.

We know that virus has been with us for 50 years, so if you caught it last year, you are immune this year. If virus don’t mutate.

First time we met this virus in 1968, when over a half of million people died in Hong Kong. So they called flu pandemic as ”Hong Kong Flu”. About 1 million people died worldwide by this terrible virus, and first flu shots agains the desease was created one year after spreading.

Next bad flu seasons, witch were caused by same, virus was in 1997-98 and also 2003-04.

The virus is
dangerous for very young children and and very old people, so hospitalizations and death rates stayed high this year.
