The Children of Húrin by Tolkien (REVIEW)

Calification: 5/5☆☆☆☆☆
Ideal for fans.
Tolkien doesn't let us down with this novel that even though it's a tragedy it is not dense for reading. Ideal for fans that really appreciate the author's work!

You can also find this review in Kobo, link below👇https://www.kobo.com/AR/es/ebook/the-children-of-hurin

REVIEW II:
It was edited by Christopher Tolkien (son) based on his father's writings. This story is found in The Silmarillion, but in this case the plot is extended. It is not recommended for sensitive people, as it is a tragedy. One difficulty when reading it is that it is in older English so there are words that are not used much anymore (e.g. "thee","thou", "art",etc.) and there are no good definitions. Despite everything, the story is very interesting and it greatly expands the Tolkien universe.

The Children of Húrin (SUMMARY)

>>SPOILERS<<
INTRO: Húrin was a man who defied Morgoth, the great evil god, because of this, Morgoth cursed him and all his family: everywhere they went, a shadow of sadness, depression and misfortune would be spread.

This is the story
of Túrin, son of Húrin, heir to the throne. When he was young he lived with his mother, Morwen, and his younger sister, Urwen(her name meant happiness and laughter). But one day Urwen died, and all the happiness and laughter she had
once provided was gone. Meanwhile Morgoth's servants were preparing to attack them, so Morwen sent Túrin to an Elvish kingdom, leaving her and her unborn kid. Túrin grew up in the Elvish kingdom, but one day he got tired and decided
to make his own life, leaving the kingdom with his cursed shadow. He became chief of a group of outcasts in a forest, and two friends joined him: Beleg, an
elf, and Gwindor, a man. Túrin had became proud and superb, and
accidentally killed Beleg with his sword. Gwindor got tired of his personality and left him, so Túrin changed his name to Turambar. One day he found a lost lady in the forest, who was Niënor, Morwen's child, Túrin's sister, whom he had
never met. But Niënor changed her name to Níniel so they didn't recognize each other, and they got married. Once, Túrin had to go and fight a dragon, and he
was knocked off, but not killed. But Níniel thought that he was dead so the dragon told her that they were siblings; she couldn't bear the truth, so she killed herself by jumping into a river. When Túrin woke up and discovered
everything that had happened, he stabbed himself with his sword. At the end there is Húrin and Morwen mourning over their childrens' graves. Morwen died of grief, leaving Húrin as the only surviving member of the family.

The fact that the writer chose Scotland as the plce where the story would take place was a very good choice since it combines the picturesque landscape of this city with the cold and creepy place that is the veil.
MISTBORN TRILOGY BOOK 1: THE FINAL EMPIRE BY BRANDON SANDERSON

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!
I started this book giving it high hopes . All I can say is that it was as good as I had expected and MORE. I'm officially into the Brandon Sanderson fandom.
It contains:
-epic phrases that also speak about reality
- excelent developed and lovable characters
- interesting and different kind of magic power, which source is metals: Allomancy.
I must say that there is gore and that the parts that are violent, ARE VIOLENT. But I think that that is what it makes this books so good. It really makes you get into the body of the protagonist and view the scenes in her own perspective.
It is about a group of skaa(low class, slaves) thiefs that decide to overthrow the Lord Ruler, which was considered impossible due that this ruler was like a God. Kelsier, the leader of this crew, plans to start a House war between the noble houses to start a distraction so that the Lord Ruler has nobody to defend him and it is easier to overthrow him.
Acually, I was surprised that i liked it because it contains a lot of political and religious content. It was originally published as an adults book but then it was also accepted as juvenile reading. It isnt difficult to follow and in no point you feel like its going slow.
There are heartbreaking, tensioning and even some heartWARMING moments.
Highly recomended if you enjoy fantasy novels.
MORE THAN DESERVED 76374940/5 STARS
